Kiran Jain is Chief Strategy Officer at Neighbor.ly.* She was previously an attorney for the City of Oakland focused on urban development and civic innovation through her real estate, technology and municipal law practice. She is a past board member of the League of California Cities’ Municipal Law Institute.
Prior to joining the City of Oakland, Kiran practiced finance, real estate, land use, environmental, and corporate law at Bingham McCutchen, representing Fortune 500 companies, commercial lenders, real estate developers and public agencies.
Kiran also has experience with tech start-ups. She served as the founding attorney for Kiva.org and helped launch LawPivot, a crowdsourced platform for those seeking legal advice acquired by RocketLawyer. She currently serves on the board of MotherCoders, a tech orientation program designed for moms.
Kiran is a 2012 Leading by Design fellow at CCA, focused on redesigning government through her latest project, the Civic Design Lab.
