Taking Back Congress

Because of your support, CAPA21 reached our $100,000 campaign goal for candidates and field activities through our Asian Americans #TakeItBack campaign!

Together we helped Asian Americans play a strong role in trying to stop the most corrupt, racist and ignorant president we have known. We must take back our Congress to reverse this current developing culture of violence against the marginalized, anti-immigration laws, hate crimes, wrongful incarceration, wealth inequality, discrimination, and environmental degradation.

This post includes a listing of our donations to candidates and information about the field activities we supported. We also include a list of contributors who made our Asian Americans #TakeItBack campaign a success. We donated as much of the funds we received as possible in the short time frame before November 6, but will use any remaining funds to continue to restore a Congress willing to resist the destruction of our Democracy.

On behalf of CAPA21 PAC Chair Glen S. Fukushima and campaign partner Hoyt Zia, thank you for your incredible support.

Dale Minami
President, CAPA21 PAC

PS – Make a donation today to provide future support for CAPA21 in the next election cycle so that we can continue our efforts to ensure that Asian Americans have a powerful presence and role in all branches and levels of government and politics, achieved through voters who are engaged, informed, and empowered.

Update from Asian Americans Against Trumpism

The following is an update from the Asian Americans Against Trumpism PAC. Through our Asian Americans #TakeItBack campaign, CAPA21 donors contributed $7,500 to this effort.

(Ot. 26, 2018) – We’re writing to provide you with an update on what we’ve been up to. Thanks to your generous support, we’ve raised over $35,000 (and counting) and are successfully executing on our plan to place print ads opposing Republican candidates in CA Congressional Districts 39, 45, and 48 in Southern California.

Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese newspaper readers across those districts are seeing our ads — and will continue to see them through the weekend before Election Day. We have ads in four Chinese-language papers, three Vietnamese papers, and two Korean papers. We’ll also have an ad on the landing page of the World Journal mobile app.

Because we reached one of our stretch goals, we’ve also created a brief TV ad which will run multiple times daily on Vietnamese TV in Southern California from now until Election Day.

Our ads are also available in digital format to share on social media. Check out our drive of digital flyers (https://bit.ly/AAATads) and feel free to download and share them widely!

Together we’re making a difference: $60K in donations from Asian Americans to candidates, field efforts

Because of your support, CAPA21 has donated $60,000 to candidates and field activities through our Asian Americans #TakeItBack campaign!

These field activities include Asian in-language ads in three key Congressional districts in California and nonpartisan voter registration, education and get out the vote activities throughout the country.

Another one of the groups we’re supporting, the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA) is helping activate labor in the effort to flip red districts. Several of our endorsed candidates, including Andrew Janz and T.J. Cox, have been endorsed by the local newspaper against the incumbent Republicans.

We’re still fundraising! Hoyt Zia, Leigh-Ann Miyasato, and CAPA21 Chair Glen S. Fukushima are pledging $20,000 total in matching donations. We surpassed our $50,000 and this match pledge is key to helping us hit our next goal of $100,000.

Donate today and your donation will effectively be doubled! Donate by Monday, October 24, and we will expend those funds by October 26 to aid the final pushes by our endorsed candidates,

Below is a list of our total donations after three rounds of contributions and an updated list of our donors we’d like to thank for supporting Asian Americans #TakeItBack!

Thank you for your continued support!

~ Dale
