On this Election Eve, a Special Update and Thank You from AA4D and CAPA21

Dear Donors and Supporters,

Your contributions to AA4D and CAPA21 helped us raise a combined $1.1 million, the vast majority of which went directly to 10 grassroots, pro-Blue AANHPI voter mobilization groups in the seven crucial swing states of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, and New Mexico  This is the most money CAPA21 has ever raised in a single election year and demonstrated our collective determination to save Democracy and uphold the rule of law.

We could not have done this without you, our generous donors, but especially CAPA21 Chair Tamlyn Tomita and Daniel Blinkoff ($100,000), Raymond L. Ocampo Jr. and Sandra O. Ocampo ($100,000), Clement Kong ($55,000),  Craig Yamada MD and Monice Kwok MD ($50,000), and Sam Kong Fang ($25,000).

We appreciate ALL our donors no matter the amount and value every dollar donated. Thank you!

Because of donations received in just the past few weeks, we sent thousands of dollars more to The Progressive Vietnamese American Organization (PIVOT), Southeast Asian Action in Wisconsin, and Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance (API PA) in Penn. – all together more than $20,000.

This additional funding enabled PIVOT to quadruple the number of digital ads they produce to sway Vietnamese American voters in key states. Southeast Asian Action, a brand-new organization, has produced digital ads that have been delivered 1.4 million times, reaching 400,000 viewers who watched an average of 3.6 times. Out of these, 560,000 views were watched to the end. Southeast Asian Action’s YouTube videos for the Hmong, Lao, and Cambodian communities reached over 10,000 views with 90% approval rate. API PA is right now doing last-minute door-knocking to deliver the AANHPI vote in the Philadelphia suburbs, having already knocked on 260,000 doors and made over four million voter contacts by mail and phone.

AA4D/CAPA21 funding allowed AANHPI voters to receive in-language voter educational materials starting in late September reinforcing the Harris/Walz campaign’s multilingual materials hitting the mail and media in the last two weeks. Our strategy of supporting the year-round trusted messengers has paved the way for AANHPI voters to become engaged as voters and volunteers before early voting began.

Through your support, AA4D/CAPA 21 produced four webinars with AANHPI organizers from the swing states, noted scientists such as Dr. Andrea Liu and Dr. Steven Chu, and artists, writers, and entertainers such as David Henry Hwang, Kristina Wong, and Jon Jon Briones. Throughout the year, we’re grateful to the many people who offered to fundraise for us, including Chizu’s Corner, Jeff Yang and Phil Yu, and Greg Pak.

We have forged a new political donor community drawn from the multitudes of friends and colleagues of the AA4D and CAPA21 team. After Tuesday, we must remain vigilant and engaged politically to support the hoped-for Harris/Walz administration from unrelenting attacks from the right.

We couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you so much for your incredible support!
