Asian Americans for Democracy

Organizing Committee for AA4D: Kathy Ko Chin, Dianne Fukami, Carole Hayashino, Debra Nakatomi, Dan Nguyen-Tan, Vincent Pan, Lia Shigemura, Eddie Wong, Helen Zia, and Hoyt Zia.

Asian Americans for Democracy (AA4D) plans to raise $2 million to strengthen AAPI voter turnout in battleground states to defeat Donald Trump. CAPA21 will distribute the funds raised by AA4D through our independent expenditures account.

This collaboration is a more powerful version of the independent expenditure (IE) fundraising and funding that CAPA21 used to do alone to fund ground operations. AA4D will lead the IE efforts and CAPA21 will continue to support AAPI and AAPI-focused elected officials and candidates.

We will also fund digital ad campaigns that reach AAPI voters via social media platforms and ethnic news media. This adds to the collaboration with the voter engagement strategies pioneered by the former Asian Americans Against Trump PAC in 2018 and 2020.

So instead of three different AAPI political action committees – each competing for a limited number of donors – we have joined hands to achieve our mutual political empowerment goals.

We recommend online donations of $5,000 or less. For larger donations, we welcome checks or bank transfers. Checks can be made payable to “CAPA21-Federal” with “AA4D” in the memo and sent to CAPA21, 440 N Barranca Avenue, Unit 5588, Covina, CA 91723. For bank transfers, contact keith@capa21.com.

Note: Contributions or gifts to CAPA21-Federal are not tax deductible. Federal law requires us to use our best efforts to collect and report the name, mailing address, occupation and name of employers of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. Contributions will be used in connection with federal elections.
