Surviving authoritarianism requires resilience, awareness, and strategic action. “The best way to make a difference is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for the next election. Go out and make a difference right now,” said President Obama. “Because through your action, you will fill others with hope. And you might just fill yourself with hope.”

Take action – in whatever way you can
- Learn about and join protests, actions, and organizing activities by signing up for mobilize.us.
- Respond to requests from organizations and advocates you support. They often send emails asking their supporters to sign a petition, make a call, or write to an elected. Click on those action links and help these advocates generate the numbers they need to show mass support.
Hold your elected officials accountable
- Contact your elected officials at all levels, not just your Senators and Member of Congress, but also your statewide officials, state legislators, and even your county and city elected – to support/oppose specific legislation, push them to fight harder; or if they’re a MAGA Republican, strongly oppose the MAGA/Trump agenda.
- Search for your elected officials on the League of Women Voters website, ballotpedia.org, or 270toWin.com.
Support organizations working on the front lines
- We’re not naming specific organizations because there are so many of them, but start with the groups that you already know. You have their emails in your inbox already! Send them a donation of any amount.
Support ethnic media, local media, and nonprofit media
- Our AANHPI ethnic media need our support now more than ever. Find media that represent you and your community on https://dir.americancommunitymedia.org. Apologies this is only for California.
