CAPA21 Endorses Dr. Richard Pan and Thien Ho for Congress

CAPA21 (capa21.com), a political action committee serving the AANHPI community, announced its endorsements of former California State Senator Dr. Richard Pan and Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho for California’s 6th Congressional District.

Tamlyn Tomita chairs CAPA21, which includes co-founder Dale Minami and political veterans Maeley Tom and Ginger Lew on its leadership team. CAPA21 started in 2014, but has roots in the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans, founded in 1987 as one of the country’s first Asian American PACs.

While voters in California’s 6th Congressional District can only choose one candidate to vote for, CAPA21 strongly recommends choosing Pan or Ho from among the six leading candidates in the race. The PAC strongly opposes Kevin Kiley, who recently discarded his Republican label but still votes with Republicans in Congress.

“Dr. Richard Pan championed landmark child and school safety laws and lowered the uninsured rate among children by two-thirds, taking on RFK Jr. twice after preventable disease outbreaks. A Harvard-trained pediatrician and UC Davis professor, he has cared for underserved children, trained future doctors and co-founded Healthy Kids Healthy Future, providing health coverage to more than 65,000 kids,” said Tomita.

“As a Vietnamese refugee whose perseverance led him to become Sacramento County District Attorney, Thien has proven his resolve to champion working families, challenge Trump and corrupt politicians, and shield our immigrant neighbors,” said Tomita. “He has dedicated his life to advancing equal justice, securing our neighborhoods, and bringing those who exploit their power to book.”
